Last week, we had the incredible honor of attending the Devon Women in Business Awards, where Community Support Team was recognised as finalists in five categories! This recognition reflects the dedication, innovation, and passion our team brings to the work we do every day.
We are particularly thrilled to celebrate Andrea, our Deputy Head of Learning, who earned a Highly Commended award for Employee of the Year. Andrea’s unwavering commitment to the young people we support and her ability to consistently go above and beyond her role has left an indelible mark on our organisation and community.
Andrea’s Extraordinary Achievements
Andrea’s recognition is a testament to her tireless efforts to empower young people and help them achieve their full potential. Her recent projects highlight the transformative impact of her work:
- Championing Creativity: Andrea worked closely with a group of young people to help them produce artwork that will soon be displayed in a local exhibition. This opportunity allows them to express themselves creatively while gaining confidence and recognition for their talents.
- Encouraging Aspiring Authors: Andrea also supported two young people in publishing their own short stories as books. From brainstorming story ideas to navigating the publishing process, she guided them every step of the way. The result? A tangible accomplishment that celebrates their creativity and hard work.
Andrea’s efforts go far beyond her expected role, embodying the heart of what Community Support Team stands for: creating opportunities for growth, empowerment, and self-expression.
Celebrating Together: A Joint Triumph
This event was made even more special because our sister organisation, Wellbeing In Action, also had a fantastic night, taking home two awards! Together, we are incredibly proud of the amazing work and support the women in our teams provide to the community.
The partnership between Community Support Team and Wellbeing In Action reflects our shared mission of uplifting individuals, fostering resilience, and building brighter futures. The awards highlight the exceptional efforts of the women leading these initiatives and inspire us to continue making a meaningful difference.
