We are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership that brings even more opportunities for young people with additional needs to develop vital life skills through swimming.
The Community Support Team is now working alongside LeviSwims and Level Water, a national charity dedicated to improving access to one-to-one swimming lessons for children with disabilities and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This collaboration aims to help more young people build confidence, improve physical wellbeing, and achieve their personal goals in the water.
Meet Levi – Our Specialist Swimming Tutor
At the heart of this initiative is Levi, a highly experienced and qualified swimming tutor. Levi brings a wealth of experience from both the South West and a year spent teaching in Australia. Alongside this role as a swimming coach, Levi also works as a learning mentor for Community Support Team, providing dedicated support to young people in a range of settings.
With a background as a specialist SEN support assistant in primary schools, Levi’s approach is rooted in patience, empathy and understanding. Their holistic teaching style is tailored to meet each child’s individual needs – creating a safe and supportive environment where young swimmers can thrive.
About Level Water
Level Water is a UK charity on a mission: To give children with disabilities the opportunity to learn to swim. Their work supports children with physical, sensory and learning disabilities, providing access to specialist one-to-one swimming lessons that may not otherwise be available.
Swimming offers far more than just physical benefits. For many young people with additional needs, time in the water can help build confidence, reduce anxiety, improve social skills and develop trust – all while having fun.
We’re proud to support this fantastic organisation and to bring their work to life within our community.
