Community Support Team Crowned Charity of the Year at the Newton Abbot Business and Community Awards

We are absolutely delighted to share that the Community Support Team has been awarded Charity of the Year at the Newton Abbot Business & Community Awards. This recognition means the world to us and truly highlights the passion, dedication and determination that goes into the work we do every day.

At the heart of our organisation is a commitment to providing tailored, compassionate support to children and young people facing complex challenges. We work closely with local authorities, SEN and inclusion teams, schools, social workers and families to create mentoring and educational packages that genuinely make a difference. Winning this award is a wonderful reminder that our efforts are seen and valued by the wider community.

This achievement also reflects the incredible resilience of the young people and families we work with. Their progress, whether it’s through achieving an AQA UAS accreditation or simply gaining the confidence to take the next step in life, is what drives us forward. Every success story, big or small, reinforces why we do what we do.

The award also serves as a moment for our whole team to pause and feel proud. So much of the work we deliver happens behind the scenes: the careful planning, the listening, the mentoring, the advocacy. To have that dedication recognised in this way is both humbling and motivating.

We are so grateful to everyone who supports us, from our incredible staff to our partners, funders, families and, of course, the community itself. This is not just our win – it belongs to all of you who believe in our mission and help us continue making a positive impact.

Being named Charity of the Year is not the end of the journey but the beginning of an exciting new chapter. It strengthens our resolve to keep building on our achievements, to keep amplifying the voices of young people and families, and to ensure that every individual we work with has the opportunity to thrive.

Thank you, Newton Abbot, for this honour. We are so proud – and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together next.
