Outdoor Education Lead
We have an exciting opportunity within our team to continue the development of our outdoor education program.
This will be supporting our existing forest school practitioners in developing a wider offer within the specialist education sector, providing young people with SEND and those at risk of exclusion with specific programs to help with their own development and support them within their own journeys in education. This will initially be based at our outdoor learning space, The LookOut@Haldon at Haldon Forest. This role is due to start in the spring term, January 2026
Applicants will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Forest School Leader
- First aid ITC level 3 pediatric & Forest School
- Experience of producing annual curriculums for forest school sessions which may have been OFSTED inspected
- Production of Risk assessments for activities and young people
- Experience in woodland management and the environmental and ecological impact of forest schools.
- Working within an SLT base to develop curriculum, attending meetings outside of normal working hours.
- Attending and presenting annual / termly data at trustees / directors meetings
- Salary based on experience and proven qualifications
- 39 week term time contract pro rata on FTE – permanent
- 38 weeks term time with 1 week allowance for additional planning
