The LookOut@Haldon

A unique outdoor learning space that enables our team to support young people who struggle with working in groups or with other young people.

All young people are supported on a 1:1 basis. This enables us to “drop” in with each young person, they are able to stay and engage for as long as they are comfortable with. We have been able to help young people build their acceptance of others and even work as a small team to build dens, cook food and make and play games together. They are all able to achieve a variety of individual AQA awards whilst visiting The LookOut.

We are able to offer half termly AQA projects that have been specifically designed by our heads of learning, building self-esteem – self-worth – social understanding. These are themed around: Looking Out for each other – Looking Out for others – Looking Out for Nature.

The Well Being Centre

This is a shared space with our “sister” charity Wellbeing In Action. The centre has a variety of rooms that can be used for a number of different purposes. There is a kitchen, an arts and crafts room, an area for learning music and another where you can learn basic hair and beauty skills. There is also a large room we use for our staff training days. Our young people can achieve a range of AQA awards in these life skills, building self-worth and confidence to take into their adult lives .
